After four seasons with Clermont, why did you decide to return to Bayonne this summer?
Is it only the choice of the heart?
No. I'm 23, not 35, at the end of my career, with the opportunity to come and finish my career. I'm still hungry to play and win, so I also came here because the club matched my rugby ambitions. It's got a new look, it doesn't have the same ambitions as four years ago, and it's done some recruiting. The passion and the rugby are better. It's a choice both of the heart and a sporting one.
In 2019, at the time of your departure, Philippe Tayeb said it was premature to leave at 18. What do you think?
He could have been right or wrong, but it was at a given moment. Today, I don't think it was premature, given how my adventure at Clermont went, but it could have gone differently. I played between 60 and 70 games with the professionals. I'm happy with my career there. A little less happy with the way it ended, but that's the life of a rugby player. I don't regret my choice at all, and if I had to do it all over again, maybe I'd do it again, given how well it went over there, and that I'm here today... The film is nice.
